New details of the case of the RUDN University teacher have become known.
An employee of a well-known Russian university was accused of organizing the illegal migration of Nigerians and was placed in pretrial detention.
RIA Novosti learned about this from the press service of the Tverskoy Court of Moscow.
A preliminary measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of 2 months was chosen for RUDN University associate professor Ekpobodo Ovvigho Raymond. He will remain in pretrial detention until November 8, 2024.
Earlier it became known that one of the RUDN University teachers was arrested on suspicion of organizing illegal migration.
According to investigators, Raymond and his accomplices were looking for Russians and citizens of foreign countries who were willing to enter into a fictitious marriage.
This measure was necessary to obtain a residence permit and visitor visas.
The defendants in the case taught their charges how to behave properly in front of the registry office employees so that they would not suspect forgery.
Moreover, illegal migration services were provided mainly to Nigerian citizens.
