Rospotrebnadzor to check information about canned fish with parasite larvae

The Moscow Office of Rospotrebnadzor will check information about canned fish containing parasite larvae.

According to information on the Internet, low-quality canned goods could have been sold in the Pyaterochka and Dixie stores.

The department confirmed to RIA Novosti that they are conducting an investigation into the messages on the Internet.

The research showed that no live larvae were found in the canned fish "Sterilized canned fish. Pollock liver, Primorsky style". Instead, non-viable larvae of the Anisakis genus parasites were found.

During monitoring in the Pyaterochka and Dixie stores, the said canned goods were not found.

The results of the study were sent to the Moscow Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology for further evaluation.

Rospotrebnadzor also requested clarification on this fact from the companies “Corporate Center X 5” and “Dixie Yug”.

Information about possible violations was sent to Rospotrebnadzor of Primorsky Krai.
