An unusual incident involving a wild animal that occurred in Moscow has become known.

Muscovites bought a lion cub, which they got rid of after just a month and a half.

The press service of the Moscow prosecutor's office reported the incident on its Telegram channel.

As the investigation revealed, the wild animal in a deplorable state was handed over to the staff of the veterinary clinic on Nagatinskaya Embankment by its owners.

After the animal's owners did not return for it, vigilant animal rights activists reported the incident to the Moscow environmental prosecutor's office.

According to preliminary data, the animal is about one and a half months old. Veterinarians diagnosed him with exhaustion, as well as a number of other associated diseases.

The lion cub was handed over to specialists with experience in handling wild animals.

It is noted that the owners who handed over the wild animal to the veterinary clinic did not present any accompanying documents.

The environmental prosecutor's office is investigating the circumstances under which the rare animal could have fallen into the hands of the capital's residents.
