Neurosurgeons in Moscow performed several unique operations.
One example of successful surgical intervention was the removal of a tumor the size of an apple.
The head of the Moscow Center for Neurosurgery, candidate of medical sciences Maxim Semenov told the RIA Novosti agency about this.
As the expert noted, the young girl was diagnosed with a large tumor at the base of the skull.
Time was lost at her place of residence, and so the girl turned to Moscow surgeons for help.
Semenov emphasized that the neurosurgeons performed the necessary operation and removed the tumor efficiently. As a result, the consequences for the young patient were minimal.
This was not the only complicated case of surgical intervention. The doctor told about another operation, when surgeons had to remove metastases in the area of the cervical vertebrae.
The agency’s source said that, on average, specialists at the Neurosurgery Center perform from 2 to 5 operations per day, depending on the complexity of the surgical intervention.
