The Basmanny Court of Moscow has ordered the remand of retired Russian Interior Ministry Colonel Vladimir Novgorodov.
The reason given is that the defendant is accused of involvement in murders, as well as participation in illegal arms trafficking.
The court ruling states: “Novgorodov is charged with committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 105, Part 3 of Article 222.1, Part 3 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” as reported by TASS .
The specified articles provide for criminal liability for the murder of two or more persons, for the illegal circulation of weapons by prior agreement and the illegal possession of weapons.
It is emphasized that the criminal was involved in the murder of businessmen.
The violent liquidation of these individuals was carried out between 2000 and 2005.
In addition, it is indicated that Novgorodov is guilty of attempted murder of the adviser to the chairman of the Moscow Accounts Chamber, Alexander Revzin.
According to the court, the accused took personal part in the murder of one of the victims.
