Man to stand trial in Moscow for fatally hitting pensioner while rollerskating

The Moscow prosecutor's office reported that a 56-year-old man who hit an elderly woman while rollerblading will appear before the capital's court.

As a result of this incident, the 88-year-old victim subsequently died.

On their official Telegram channel, the police stated: “The defendant was riding roller skates and collided with a pensioner.”

In particular, the man caught the leash of a dog that an elderly woman was walking. She, in turn, fell and suffered a head injury.

Case details

The victim was urgently hospitalized in a medical facility. Her condition was assessed as extremely serious.

Despite the efforts of doctors, the elderly woman died without regaining consciousness.

The man was detained by law enforcement officers. He is charged with causing death by negligence.

The defendant does not admit his guilt, insisting that the incident was an accident.
