Leus: New Year's weather will be a real surprise for Muscovites
This year, the November weather surprised Muscovites with abnormal warmth, exceeding the climate norm by 2 degrees.
Despite the warmth, precipitation was abundant this month, and Moscow was covered in heavy snow.
Now Muscovites are waiting to see what the last month of the outgoing year will bring and what joy it will bring.
The first week of December promises to be warm, with clouds and light precipitation, said Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, on his Telegram channel.
He said that at the end of the first ten-day period the weather in Moscow could deteriorate sharply due to a cold front.
However, the second ten days of December will be slightly frosty. The air temperature will remain in the range from minus 1 to minus 4 degrees.
In the last week of December, alternating frosts and thaws can be observed.
According to meteorologist Leus, December is expected to be 1.5-2 degrees warmer than normal, and the New Year in the capital will be snowy.
