The Russian Ministry of Health was found guilty of allowing the registration of the antibiotic Biapenem based on forged documents.
The corresponding decision was made by the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal of Moscow after the court’s previous decisions were overturned.
In February 2024, the Indian company Coprun Research Laboratories Limited filed a lawsuit in the Moscow Arbitration Court due to violations of rights, Izvestia exclusively reported.
The company alleged that its patent rights were infringed due to the unauthorized use of its pharmaceutical substance by a Russian entity of another Indian company.
A forged letter of consent was submitted to register the drug.
During the trial, the court noted that the Ministry of Health had not taken any action to cancel the registration of the drug Biapenem due to inaccurate documents.
Thus, the Ministry of Health was found guilty of failing to stop the registration of pills using forged documents.
