The Moscow prosecutor's office reported that fraudsters in the capital were deceiving Russians with duplicate websites.
It is indicated that the scammers created fake websites selling tickets to cultural events.
The department writes on its official Telegram channel: “At the same time, prices for such events were inflated.”
It is emphasized that the scammers used the trademarks of the Bolshoi, Maly and Mariinsky theaters, as well as the State Theater of Nations.
Among other things, fake tickets were sold for the State Academic Youth Theatre of the Russian Federation, the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, and the International Cultural Centre "Spasskaya Tower".
The capital's court has issued a verdict against the detained fraudsters.
One of the scammers received 7 years and 6 months of imprisonment, the second – 4 years and 6 months with a fine of 600 thousand rubles.
Two more fraudsters were sentenced to 5 years and 5 months in prison.
The said swindlers will serve their sentences in a general regime penal colony.
