The first deputy chairman of the Moscow region government is a defendant in a bribery case.
The man could face up to 15 years in prison.
RIA Novosti learned about this from the Tverskoy Court of Moscow. It is noted that he was officially charged under the article on receiving a bribe, which implies up to 15 years of imprisonment.
The court ordered that the defendant be sent to a pre-trial detention facility.
In addition to imprisonment, the court may also sentence the accused to pay a fine of up to seventy times the amount he received as a bribe.
Also, during the course of the judicial investigation, the former deputy chairman of the Moscow region government may be banned from holding positions related to public service.
As the investigation established, the incident in which the accused is suspected occurred in June 2024.
Ilya Bronstein received a bribe of 25 million from the CEO of the company, which the entrepreneur spent on patronage of the official.
The defendant in the case promised him unhindered participation in a competition to purchase interactive panels for general education organizations in the Moscow region for the above-mentioned amount.
