The general's lawyer told how things are going with Timur Ivanov, who was left in pretrial detention until the end of the year.

Lawyer Murad Musayev told journalists that the former deputy minister of defense has adapted to the conditions of detention in the pretrial detention facility.

On Thursday, September 19, Ivanov's arrest was extended until December 23, RIA Novosti reports. The decision was made by Moscow's Basmanny Court.

Musayev noted that Ivanov had become accustomed to the changes that had occurred in his living conditions. He emphasized that the general's situation was no different from that of other prisoners.

An officer accused of bribery refuses to make a deal with the investigation. He considers himself innocent, so he does not want to incriminate himself.

The lawyer and his client understand: “A bad investigator is one who would not offer [a deal].”

There are no changes in the plot of the criminal case against former deputy Sergei Shoigu, the lawyer added.

The defense insisted on a softening of the preventive measure. Musayev asked to place Ivanov under house arrest or to choose a ban on certain actions.
