What to do if the inner ear and eyes do not want to act in unison? What is it about?
Yes, about the banal motion sickness in transport - a problem that is known to many.
Let's try to find a recipe for nausea in the car!
It's all very simple: the inner ear tells the brain that the body is moving in space, and quite quickly, but the eyes say the opposite: the person is sitting in a soft and comfortable chair.
As a result, an imbalance arises, which we all call “motion sickness”.
In other words, you start to feel more and more nauseous, your head hurts, and the only thing you passionately want is to stop this torment.
Some people even start to be afraid to use transport. Any kind.
It is impossible to get rid of it, but it is possible to make it easier
The first thing that both seasoned travelers and doctors recommend is to breathe fresh air. For some, it is enough to open a window, while others will have to stop the car for a few minutes and get out.
Doesn't help? Try closing your eyes (unless you're driving, of course). Usually, by limiting your view - that is, by getting rid of the flickering of objects outside the window, a person immediately feels relief.
Can't close your eyes? Then ginger might be helpful. But not in its pure form, but, for example, chewing gum, cookies, ale or other products containing it. No ginger? Just nibble on a cracker or crackers. Just don't use strong flavors.
Speaking of strong smells. If you are prone to motion sickness, it is better to refrain from smoking in the car. It will be difficult for active smokers, but there is a way: a short smoke break only during stops, for example, at intervals of an hour, and only if it is really unbearable and you do not feel sick.
Other methods? Let's turn to folk medicine: let's try massaging the active points: earlobes or the point in the center of the wrist (approximately where people usually wear wristwatches).
If all folk remedies do not help, then you will have to use the “heavy artillery” - medications.
It is worth mentioning right away that any motion sickness pills can and should only be taken as prescribed by a doctor.
Each person has their own reasons, their own symptoms and the strength of motion sickness, therefore the selection of special medications is carried out individually. Trying to experiment on your own is not worth it.
