However, in reality, this can be done much more easily, and without leaving the store.
So, if you don’t want to knowingly buy stale products, you should pay attention to several important details.
Firstly, quality products are never sold without labelling. And it can also be used to judge the expiration date of eggs.
Dietary eggs marked D can be stored for no more than a week, and table eggs (C) - up to 25 days. However, keep in mind that even table eggs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 20 days.
There are 3 more proven ways to check the freshness of eggs in the store.
If you have an ultraviolet flashlight, you can use it to shine light on the shell of the product. Fresh eggs will have a red shell, and the older they are, the lighter the color.
If you don't have an ultraviolet flashlight, a regular one will do. A dark yolk when held up to the light indicates that the egg is not fresh.
Also, carefully inspect the product externally. The egg shell should be smooth, without traces of droppings.
