Strawberries are quite a delicate berry, and their storage should be approached with care and discretion.
Otherwise, you may lose the treat without having time to really enjoy it.
Let's figure out what needs to be done to preserve strawberries as long as possible and enjoy the taste of each berry.
Principle one: strawberries must be sorted after purchase. Even in a batch where berries are berry by berry, there may be moldy berries in the middle. And they will be the reason for spoilage of all the others.
Principle two: do not wash all the strawberries at once. If the berries are left in the refrigerator wet, they will spoil much faster.
Principle three: choose the right container for storing berries. Cardboard or wooden boxes are suitable for storing strawberries. In extreme cases, you can use plastic, but keep in mind that the container must have ventilation holes.
