Wallpaper is a popular building material.

This is a roll on a paper base, it is attached to the walls using glue. There is a large assortment of roll materials on sale.

In order not to spoil the interior of your home, you need to stick the wallpaper correctly. Each type of roll material has its own subtleties that need to be taken into account when sticking them.

If you decide to do it yourself, prepare the walls first. Using solvents and a narrow spatula, remove the old wallpaper. Fill in any potholes and cracks in the walls with putty.

Clean the walls from dirt and dust. Before choosing wallpaper, check the walls for moisture resistance. Spray them with room temperature water. If it starts to roll off, then the absorbency here is low.

Then cover the walls with thin paper so that the wallpaper lays flat. If the drops remain on the wall and dark spots appear, then the absorption is increased here. Treat this wall with a primer.

Then apply wallpaper glue or one layer of paste. When choosing an adhesive solution, pay attention to the instructions pasted on the wallpaper. It indicates the type of glue that is needed for the job.

If the wallpaper is very "heavy" (vinyl or non-woven), then special glues are needed. When gluing paper wallpaper, use any glue.

Take a container with water, pour the contents of the bag into it, mix well. Leave for 15 minutes so that everything dissolves completely. Take a roll of wallpaper, cut it into pieces, leaving a margin of up to 7 cm. Using a plumb line, draw a vertical line. Paste the first strip along it.

Different wallpapers have different gluing methods. If you decide to glue paper wallpaper, apply glue to the inner surface. Then distribute it evenly.

To do this, fold the top and bottom edges together, let them lie for about 10 minutes. Then spread the glue again. Spread the edges well so that they do not lag behind at the joints.

Start pasting when the canvas is well soaked and even. These wallpapers are pasted with an overlap so that the pattern matches.

Vinyl wallpaper will be more difficult to glue, because the sheets are heavy. Prepare the wall in advance: prime it with a special compound. Spread glue on the wall and wallpaper, leave for a few minutes.

Then, using force, press them to the wall. Wallpaper is glued end-to-end, that is, the sheets should not be placed on top of each other, the edges should not be stretched, otherwise they may stretch out.

It is very difficult to glue non-woven wallpaper. Apply glue to the wall surface in a thick layer, coat everything thoroughly.

These wallpapers are pasted end-to-end. Start work from any corner. This has its advantages: the roll material will not tear during pasting on the wall. If you notice that the sheet does not lie flat, it can be removed and pasted again.

After gluing the canvas, you need to run a dry napkin from the center to the sides from top to bottom to remove any remaining glue and any bubbles that may appear.

Before gluing wallpaper, carefully study the instructions, select the right glue, prepare the wall surface. Do everything carefully and efficiently so that the result pleases you.
