How to choose a smartphone: main criteria and tips

Today, a smartphone is an extremely indispensable device.

With its help, people not only keep in touch with each other at a distance, but also listen to music, find out their own location, watch videos, record the most important events of their lives on camera and do a huge number of other things.

We conclude that choosing a smartphone is a responsible task, which will determine how comfortably the user will perform certain goals.

Choosing a platform

Modern phones have operating systems. The choice depends not only on the set of functions, but also on the experience of using the device.

Popular Operating Systems

1. Android – suitable for those who want to control every function on the device. The operating system will allow you to customize the phone to suit the user's needs. Thanks to customization and the chance to change everything on your own phone, this platform has quickly gained popularity around the world. In addition, it should be noted that phones on this platform are the most affordable, but there are also expensive models.

2. iOS (iPhone OS) – suitable for those who do not want to regulate anything and dig into the system settings. Apple did it for the user.

Incredible convenience and ease of use have made such devices extremely popular. However, this is the main drawback of the iPhone - the lack of a large number of settings and the chance to customize. Nevertheless, the user will receive convenient functionality, as well as long-term support for the device.

Display and screen size

Today, the industry has made a big leap in the field of screens and displays. Smartphones with 2K and 4K resolutions have appeared on the market, moreover, some devices have started to receive HDR support. Despite technological progress, the screen resolution of 1080p is sufficient, and high figures of this value in 2K or 4K are marketing tricks.

Setting this resolution only makes sense on devices with a large display, such as TVs or monitors, but a standard FullHD is enough for a phone screen.

The screen sizes are worth a special mention, they are getting bigger every day. This is due to the fact that the amount of content viewed via the phone has increased significantly in recent years.

That's why smartphone manufacturers have started to increase the screen size, since it's easier to watch videos, photos, and visit websites with a larger diagonal.

For this reason, it is recommended to look at phones with a larger diagonal, but if the user is not interested in the above, then smaller screen sizes will allow you to save money.

Phone memory

The amount of memory required depends solely on the user's needs. For some, a smartphone is a real file library, storing everything from photos and video games to hours of movies and TV series.

Therefore, if the user is interested in games and videos, it is better to buy a model with more memory, preferably 64 Gb. It is worth mentioning separately that Android-based smartphones usually have the ability to increase the amount of memory by installing a flash card. However, Apple phones do not have this.

In conclusion, it is worth saying that before buying a smartphone, come to the store and test the device and hold it in your hands to be sure that this device will become irreplaceable.
