Tornado swept through Nizhnekamsk airport: planes and special equipment damaged
On Tuesday, disaster struck Begishevo International Airport in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan.
In a short period of time, aircraft and airport equipment were damaged.
A tornado was recorded in Nizhnekamsk, TASS reports. The short-term increase in wind caused damage, but there were no casualties.
The elements damaged 4 light-engine training aircraft. The damage is assessed as minor. The aircraft belong to the St. Petersburg University of Civil Aviation.
It is specified that the hangar where the airport equipment was located was hit. Damage was also caused there.
According to the agency, only one undamaged bus remained for transporting passengers.
It is also noted that the bad weather did not affect the functioning of the airport. Work continues as usual.
A storm warning was issued for Nizhnekamsk from 15:02 to 15:54 Moscow time. At that time, Kazan was experiencing hail.
