Three telephone scammers punished for deceiving pensioners in Moscow region

An unpleasant incident occurred last year.
It is noted that the fake law enforcement officers called pensioners and informed them that their loved ones were allegedly the culprits of accidents. To solve the problems, they offered to give a certain amount of money.
In addition, the criminals came to the victims and took their money. They deceived more than 30 people. The total amount of damage exceeded 8 million rubles.
According to the press service, the suspects were detained. They turned out to be three men.
It was also noted that the court sentenced the men to imprisonment for terms ranging from 5 to 8 years. In addition, they will have to pay compensation to citizens.
It is added that the perpetrators will serve their sentences in a general regime penal colony.
