Those who attacked a State Duma deputy in Samara have been charged

Young people from Central Asian countries have been charged after an attack on a parliamentarian in Samara.

Deputy Mikhail Matveyev suffered at the hands of natives of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on July 18.

What happened in Samara caused a stir and attracted the attention of both regional police officers and the Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin.

The Russian Investigative Committee's Telegram channel reported that all participants in the attack have been identified.

Among them are two 19-year-olds from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan and a 16-year-old resident of the regional center.

They were charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody.

Russia has seen an increase in crimes committed by foreigners. The State Duma and law enforcement agencies have already drawn attention to the problem.

Legislative work is currently underway to stabilize the situation.
