An incident with the Eternal Flame occurred in Ivanovo.
A woman flooded a memorial with water and was arrested for it.
The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Ivanovo Region reported the incident on its Telegram channel.
According to the agency, the high-profile incident occurred on the morning of October 2.
A woman, who was in the area of the Eternal Flame burning at the local memorial, poured water on the flame, thereby extinguishing the monument.
The perpetrator of the incident was detained and charged with public desecration of symbols of Russia's military glory. The suspect's identity was quickly established, she was detained and remanded in custody.
It is noted that appropriate work will be carried out in relation to the detainee, aimed at finding out the reason why she acted this way.
Investigators intend to conduct several forensic examinations, including a psychiatric one. Investigative actions are being carried out to collect the necessary evidence base.
