The Russian Investigative Committee reported the detention of a Defense Ministry general and the management of the Patriot Park
Investigative bodies have reported a new arrest in the ranks of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
This time we are talking about Major General Vladimir Shesterov. He was detained as part of a criminal case on fraud in the Patriot Park near Moscow.
The press service of the Russian Investigative Committee reported the details on Monday, August 5, in its Telegram channel.
The investigative activities in the Patriot Park in Kubinka did not go without arrests. Not only the RF Ministry of Defense employee, but also the park administration came under the law enforcement’s sights.
Major General Shesterov is currently in custody. A court hearing has been scheduled to determine a preventive measure. The investigation is in favor of sending the suspect into custody.
The officer holds the post of Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense.
The director of the park, Vyacheslav Akhmedov, was also detained. This person has already been sent to custody. The investigative bodies also requested this.
In addition, two of Akhmedov's subordinates were detained at their workplaces. They were taken in for questioning.
Investigators believe that Shesterov and Akhmedov are involved in the theft of federal budget funds.
We are talking about the money that was allocated for the operation of the Patriot Park. Also, part of the funds was provided to ensure the operation of the congress and exhibition center.
