The Federal Penitentiary Service commented on the recent rumors about a famous killer's request for pardon.
The agency denied the information that Lesha Soldat had asked for parole.
RIA Novosti reports this with reference to information provided by the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation for the Lipetsk Region.
We are talking about the killer Alexey Sherstobitov, better known by the nickname Lesha Soldat. According to the investigation, the convicted man was at one time a regular killer for the Medvedkovskaya and Orekhovskaya organized crime groups.
In 2008, for proven episodes of murder and attempted murder, he was sentenced to imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony.
Earlier, the media reported that Sherstobitov, who is serving a 23-year prison sentence, allegedly asked for parole, but the commission refused him.
The Federal Penitentiary Service denied this information and emphasized that the Soldier continues to serve his sentence in a penal colony, without applying for release before the end of his term.
