Journalist Ksenia Sobchak responded to the news about the easing of punishment for her former employees.
In the Telegram channel “Bloody Lady,” the celebrity wrote that she had hoped for such a development of events.
As Sobchak noted, after deducting the time that the defendants in the extortion case served in pretrial detention, they may be able to count on parole.
Let us recall that we are talking about the administrators of the Telegram channel "Tushite Svet" Kirill Sukhanov and Arian Romanovsky.
Sukhanov is the former commercial director of Ksenia Sobchak’s holding company, “Caution Media.”
According to the investigation, the defendant in the case extorted 11 million rubles from the CEO of the Rostec corporation in exchange for a ban on the publication of posts on Telegram that discredited the politician’s reputation.
For this, the court sentenced Suanov to 7.5 years, and Romanovsky to 7 years of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony.
However, after this, the Moscow City Court decided to reduce the sentences of both defendants by 2 years.
