A 40-year-old honored coach of Russia died in a road accident with a truck in the Voronezh region.
The information about Dmitry Adayev’s death was confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Saratov Region.
The international master of sports died in an accident on the 334th km of the Kursk-Saratov highway.
The traffic accident occurred on July 16. Adayev was driving a Volkswagen Touareg crossover.
The regional traffic police department's Telegram channel clarified that the Volkswagen driver drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck.
A Shacman truck was moving in the opposite direction. The truck and the crossover collided.
Adayev died at the scene of the accident, and the truck driver was hospitalized.
The police are investigating the incident.
Adaev was the coach of the Russian national canoe and kayaking team.
Before starting his coaching career, he managed to achieve certain heights in this sport.
In 2005, Adaev won the European Championship among rowers under 23 years of age.
