Russian Man Shoots 18-Year-Old Girl, Mistaking Her for a Wild Animal

A Russian man mistook a young Russian woman for a roe deer and shot her.

The incident occurred on October 29 in the Sverdlovsk region.

Details were reported on the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.

The 42-year-old hunter mistook the 2006-born girl for a wild animal and opened fire. He used a Vepr carbine of 7.62 mm caliber.

The girl was injured but alive when paramedics arrived. Doctors fought for her life, but the victim died in hospital.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident.

It is known about the shooter that he works as a driver in a government agency and prefers hunting as a recreational activity.
