Pension Fund top managers caught taking bribes and convicted

A court in Moscow has announced sentences for former top managers of the Russian Pension Fund (PFR).

Information about this was reported on the Telegram channel of the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.

The sentences were handed down to the defendants by the Presnensky District Court of Moscow. It found them guilty of accepting a bribe and sent them to a penal colony. The defendants received 11 to 13 years in prison.

A representative of the Redsis group of companies gave a particularly large bribe.

He also received a prison term. He was given less than the other defendants in the case. The bribe-giver was sent to a penal colony for 6 years. In addition, he must pay a fine of 10 million rubles.

Yevgeny Turchak, who received 12 years, is required to pay a fine of 200 million rubles. Yevgeny Nikitin (13 years) and Ruben Enfiadzhyan (12 years) must pay 190 million rubles each.

The episodes of criminal activity date back to 2016–2019. Top managers of the Pension Fund helped the bribe-giver obtain government contracts worth more than 18 billion rubles.
