A native of Tajikistan tried to kill a Russian during a dispute over a parking space.
Details were reported on Thursday, September 12, by the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sakhalin Region.
The incident occurred in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on Wednesday, September 11.
A conflict between a Russian and a 28-year-old Tajik citizen occurred in the parking lot of a local shopping center, the Investigative Committee website reports.
At first, the disputants exchanged insults. But then the situation escalated. The migrant got behind the wheel of his car, knocked the Russian down and deliberately ran him over with his car.
The man survived and was taken to hospital with multiple fractures.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator left the scene, but the police soon detained him.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of attempted murder.
The question of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being decided. The investigation is petitioning to send him to a pretrial detention facility for the duration of the investigation.
