An employee of a Chinese company sat in a small dark room for 4 days without electricity, a computer or a telephone.

The man found himself locked in one of the company's rooms when he was told to undergo training.

An employee was locked in a small room for four days and was forced to resign of his own accord, the South China Morning Post reports.

The incident was revealed by the company after it challenged the court's decision on the matter.

The firm posted the ruling on its personal blog, expressing its disagreement.

The court ruled that the company must pay the locked-out employee 380,000 yuan, which is equivalent to US$52,200, in compensation for the incident.

However, the company argues that problems with labor laws can be used by judges to distort the facts.
