The head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin, took the situation under personal control, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported on its Telegram channel.

We are talking about the detention of activists at the site of a “showdown” between taxi drivers on Komendantsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the incident. As part of the investigation, the Investigative Committee decided to conduct an investigation into the city's law enforcement officers.

They will be checked for patronage of St. Petersburg taxi drivers. In addition, investigators will check whether private carriers operate legally and whether their drivers are legally in the Russian Federation.

Searches and investigative actions are being conducted in several police departments in St. Petersburg.
