In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the head of the oncology department at a district hospital was sentenced to four years in prison for “treating” cancer patients with saline solution.
It is stated that the accused, taking advantage of his professional position, gave patients saline solution instead of medication.
The criminal used the indicated drug to replace the expensive drugs Keytruda and Opdivo prescribed to patients, as reported by RIA Novosti .
From the statement of the courts of general jurisdiction of the region it follows: “The defendant was sentenced to four years in a general regime penal colony.”
In addition, the offender is deprived of the opportunity to practice medicine for a period of two years.
It is emphasized that the defendant committed his crimes in order to artificially inflate his performance indicators.
This scheme provided the accused with increased financial benefits.
