In St. Petersburg, a woman set fire to cars on orders from scammers

The Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Leningrad Region reported that in St. Petersburg a resident of Kalmykia set fire to cars on the orders of scammers.

It is reported that the suspect is currently being detained by law enforcement officers.

Law enforcement officials noted: “The incident occurred on the night of August 25,” as reported by RIA Novosti .

The police received reports that two Mercedes cars caught fire in St. Petersburg.

The arrest was initiated during a patrol by law enforcement officers of the area of the city where the above-described incident occurred.

The detainee explained that she had become a victim of remote fraud.

The scammers introduced themselves as police officers and stated that the woman's money had been confiscated.

The scammers then convinced the victim to take part in the alleged arrest of the thieves of her money. To do this, she had to start setting cars on fire.
