An incident involving a schoolchild occurred in the Leningrad region.

The boy was promised money to set fire to a cell phone tower.

RIA Novosti reports this with reference to information provided by the press service of the regional headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The identity of the perpetrator has been established. He turned out to be a 14-year-old teenager, who was detained and taken to the police station.

A criminal case has been opened against the minor offender under the article on intentional damage to property.

Circumstances of the incident

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on July 17, when the Vsevolozhsk District police received a call about the arson of the base station building.

It is noted that the damage caused to the mobile operator was estimated at 300 thousand rubles.

The operatives quickly identified the suspect and arrived at his home to conduct a search.

His mobile phone was confiscated, as well as the clothes the teenager was wearing when he set the fire.

According to the minor, he committed the crime because an unknown man on Telegram promised him $1,000 to set fire to an object whose coordinates he gave him.
