High-ranking FSIN leader arrested for large-scale bribe
It has become known that a person has been detained in the ranks of the top leadership of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN).
The details were reported by the department’s press office on Tuesday, August 20.
The head of the Federal Penitentiary Service's digital transformation department has come to the attention of law enforcement agencies, TASS reports.
He was detained through joint efforts of FSB officers and the FSIN's own security service.
The reason for this was the suspicion of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (more than 1 million rubles). The exact amount has not yet been disclosed.
At this stage, law enforcement officers are conducting investigative activities with the defendant in the criminal case.
In addition, the issue of choosing a preventive measure will be considered and an official investigation will be conducted, representatives of the department reported.
The name of the suspect is not disclosed. But TASS notes, citing open sources, that the position of the detainee is currently occupied by Colonel of the Internal Service Alexei Timchenko.
