The former head of the communications planning department of the Main Communications Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, Major General Alexander Ogloblin, was arrested.
He was suspected of receiving a large bribe.
The Investigative Committee's message on its Telegram channel said that Ogloblin was detained on suspicion of receiving a large bribe.
According to investigators, the general may have received a bribe on an especially large scale while fulfilling a state defense order.
In 2016-2021, Ogloblin received more than 10 million rubles from representatives of the Perm Telephone Plant Telta OJSC.
The money was transferred to the defendant for patronage in fulfilling an order to supply communication devices for the Russian Ministry of Defense.
At the request of the investigation, a preventive measure was chosen for Ogloblin.
According to the decision of the 235th Garrison Military Court, the general will remain in custody during the investigation of the case.
