Frenchmen on a walk from Finland to Russia detained by Finnish border guards

French citizens who violated the state border were detained in Finland.

Three Frenchmen who wanted to see Russian nature were detained on their way back.

RIA Novosti reported the incident, citing information from the Finnish border guard.

It is noted that the incident occurred on August 24. A report was received that three people were seen walking on foot across the Finnish border in Parikkala (South Karelia region).

It turned out that three French citizens came here to enjoy the beauty of the local nature.

They approached the border from the Finnish side and, despite warning signs, continued moving.

The men spent only a few minutes in Russia, but after this short walk they were detained by Finnish border guards when they were returning.

The French citizens did not deny their guilt when they were detained. After all the circumstances of the incident are clarified, the men face a fine.
