Former head of the Moscow Department of Culture, Alexander Kibovsky, has been detained.
He is being investigated for involvement in bribery and fraud.
Investigators insist on his arrest on charges of eight counts of bribery and attempted fraud.
Kibovsky was charged with committing crimes under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Part 3 of Article 30, Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the Investigative Committee reported on its Telegram channel.
A high-ranking official was detained by law enforcement officers.
Kibovsky has been preliminarily interrogated. He is being checked for involvement in the incriminated crimes.
According to sources, investigative actions have begun against Kibovsky.
The investigation is petitioning the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow to arrest the detainee.
