Former Deputy Defense Minister Popov Charged with Fraud
The Russian Investigative Committee has issued a guilty verdict against former Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Popov.
It is stated that Popov is accused of carrying out fraudulent schemes.
Law enforcement officials indicate: “The total amount of damage from Popov’s actions amounted to 30 million rubles,” as reported by TASS .
It is emphasized that the accused does not admit his guilt.

It is emphasized that Popov is accused of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
This article implies serving a sentence in a penal colony for a period of 10 years.
As a result of investigative measures, it was established that the accused and other persons involved in this case organized a criminal group.
Then, through deception and abuse of trust, as well as taking advantage of their official position, the above-mentioned persons stole budget funds.
The specified financial resources were allocated to ensure the operation of the Patriot Park and the exhibition center of the same name.
