A doctor who performed operations covered by a free policy for a fee will be prosecuted for fraud.

The name of the ophthalmologist who is being investigated has not been released.
The criminal activity of the defendant was identified by employees of the Department of Economic Security and Combating Corruption of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kemerovo Region, who collected evidence and referred the case to court.
Circumstances of the case
As the investigation revealed, the defendant operated between August 2022 and December 2023.
In total, during this time, he managed to deceive 9 people, performing surgical interventions worth 350 thousand rubles.
Moreover, these operations are included in the list of free medical services.
The investigation also established that the doctor received 240 thousand rubles from another 7 patients, promising to obtain foreign-made components, but never fulfilled his promises.
