Detained head of the Ministry of Economic Development department found to have a fleet of luxury cars
The police found assets worth hundreds of millions of Russian rubles belonging to the director of the Department of Social and Economic Development of the North Caucasus Federal District of the Ministry of Economic Development, Igor Khranovsky.
It is indicated that such assets included five Mercedes-Benz cars, two Bentley cars and a plot of land in Odintsovo.
First Deputy Prosecutor General Anatoly Razinkin responded to this circumstance, as reported by the Kommersant newspaper.
Thus, in particular, Razinkin approved the statement of claim ordering the confiscation of the assets of Khranovsky and his family.
A high-profile case
The prosecutorial authorities expressed the assumption that the above-mentioned property is connected with the criminal case on the misappropriation of budget funds.
In addition, it is indicated that Khranovsky is suspected of abuse of office and corruption.
Law enforcement officers conducted a search of the suspect. During the search, they managed to find 433 thousand dollars, 53 thousand euros and 3.7 million Russian rubles.
It is emphasized that these funds were confiscated by the police.
