Body of 27-year-old Russian found in Thailand with signs of torture
The body of a 27-year-old Russian was found on the island of Phuket.
Local media reports that there are marks on the body of the murdered Ilya O. that are characteristic of torture.
Channel 8 reports that the body was found in a ditch opposite Karon Beach.
Next to the body lay a bag with the documents of the murdered man. Another passport was also found in it. It belongs to a woman, a citizen of the Russian Federation.
Experts have determined that 12-24 hours passed from the time of the murder until the discovery of the body. The exact cause of death will be determined by forensic examination.
A version has been put forward that the Russian was held, tortured and killed in one place, and then the criminals brought the body to Karon Beach and dumped it in a ditch.
It was established that the Russian citizen arrived in Thailand on April 24, 2024, as part of a tour group.
Without a visa, he had the right to stay in the country for no more than 90 days, i.e. the period of stay expired back in July.
