The Belgorod priest suspected of murders is connected to the criminal world.
Investigators in Belgorod believe that priest Stanislav Dementeev is involved in murders, kidnappings and extortion .
These crimes took place between 1997 and 2017, RIA Novosti writes.
The defendants in the case also include military man Igor Selyutin and businessman Stepan Morozov.
All three, as emphasized in court documents, have extensive connections in the criminal world.
The investigation believes that, while at large, Dementeyev, Morozov and Selyutin may coordinate their actions to avoid criminal liability.
A criminal case regarding the disappearance of a person against those arrested was opened in 2018 in Belgorod.
The case was transferred to the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee and combined with other cases of murder, kidnapping and extortion.
