A quarantine was declared in Primorye due to the discovery of a dangerous disease.

We are talking about African swine fever, which was detected in one of the private farmsteads.

The incident became known from a publication posted on the official VKontakte page of the Border District.

It is noted that the disease was detected when a resident of Dukhovskoye's pigs fell ill. The woman contacted the veterinary service to find out the cause.

Specialists took a sample from the infected animals and sent it to the Ussuri interregional veterinary laboratory, where it was discovered that the animals were sick with African swine fever.

A quarantine was established in a 5-kilometer zone around the identified outbreak. In order to prevent an epidemic, all pigs were confiscated, and all wooden buildings where people kept pigs were destroyed.

Specialists have also begun monitoring the villages of Boykoe, Boguslavka and Zharikovo, which are located within a ten-kilometer radius of the outbreak. Samples will also be taken from pigs kept by local residents.

It is noted that all pig breeders will be compensated.
