A man will be tried in Bryansk for a murder committed 23 years ago

A resident of Lipetsk was accused of murder committed 23 years ago.

According to investigators, the suspect was involved in the murder of a police officer that occurred in 2001.

The press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Bryansk Region shared this information on its official website .

As specified in the material, we are talking about a murder committed on November 13, 2001.

The detained 50-year-old resident of Lipetsk was at that time a bodyguard for one of the local crime bosses.

On orders from his employer, the man tracked down the head of the Bezhitsky District Department of Internal Affairs in Bryansk, police lieutenant colonel Valery Khokhlov, and shot him in the head several times with a pistol. The victim died on the spot.

It is noted that this is not the only crime in which the detainee is involved.

The investigation also established that in 2015, the man tried to kill a car driver who accidentally doused him with water while driving past.

However, in that case, the driver of the car managed to survive, and the attacker fled the scene of the crime.

Earlier it was reported that an investigative experiment was conducted in the case of the murder of seven people in Abrikosovka.
