35 killed in China after car hits pedestrians
An elderly Chinese man drove into a crowd of people and killed dozens of pedestrians.
Almost fifty more were injured to varying degrees of severity.
The tragedy occurred in the southern Chinese city of Zhuhai, Xinhua reports.
Now details of the accident have emerged. A 62-year-old man drove his SUV into a crowd of people and killed 35 people. Another 43 were injured.
People who were playing sports in a special city complex were hit by a car.
Law enforcement officers soon detained the culprit of the accident, who attempted to commit suicide.
He harmed himself and is now in a coma, police said.
The police found out that the man had committed the accident intentionally.
