German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that the deployment of US missiles on German soil will not cause an escalation with Russia.
According to the German leader, such a measure will serve as a “deterrent”.
Scholz, in particular, explained: “We are increasing our level of security,” as reported by TASS .
Moreover, according to the German Chancellor, Berlin is trying to “prevent confrontation” with its steps.
Scholz also emphasized that Berlin will continue to send weapons to Ukraine.
The German leader explained: “We will give Kyiv weapons in such a way that there are no preconditions for a direct confrontation with Russia.”
The German Chancellor made this information public at a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
In July of this year, the United States and Germany issued a joint statement, the text of which indicated that the deployment of American weapons on German territory would begin in 2026.
