Türkiye is becoming less and less popular among tourists from Russia.

Instead of this destination, Russians choose other options, including Egypt, the UAE, and Thailand.

Turkish economic commentator Mustafa Recep Ercin explained in an interview with RIA Novosti why his homeland is losing popularity among tourists from Russia.

Western sanctions played a role in this, making it difficult to pay for services.

Even more significant impact was caused by significant price increases. At the same time, service either remains at the same level or disappoints tourists.

The domestic economic situation in Turkey has also had an impact. The Turkish currency is becoming more expensive, while prices for foreign currency remain unchanged with very high inflation.

This makes this direction quite expensive when compared to other options.

A holiday in Turkey for Russians in July costs an average of 135-160 thousand rubles for 10 nights in a simple room for two in a four-star hotel. Prices for five-star hotels start at 300 thousand rubles.
