President Erdogan slaps child who didn't kiss his hand
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a light slap to a child who did not kiss his hand at a ceremony to hand over keys to apartments.
The little boy probably didn't know that he was required to kiss the president's hand at the ceremony, according to Turkish tradition.

Slap at the ceremony

The children received a gift from the president in a ceremonial setting on stage.
The five-year-old child approached Erdogan and looked at him silently.
The president gave him a light slap, reminding him of the tradition of younger people kissing the hand of their elders as a sign of respect.
After prompting from the adults, the baby kissed the president's hand and pressed his head to it.
Thus the incident was closed and the ceremony continued.
