The Polish Foreign Ministry reported that local law enforcement agencies in Nigeria detained Polish students who took part in anti-government rallies.
It is emphasized that the students carried Russian flags in their hands.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained: “The detention of six of our citizens took place in the state of Kano,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
The reason for the arrest is said to be the students’ involvement in “pro-Russian demonstrations.”
Nigerian law enforcement officials, in turn, emphasized the fact that the detainees were waving Russian flags at the corresponding demonstration.
The arrested students are studying at the Faculty of African Studies at the University of Warsaw.
At present, the participants of the strike are in custody. Investigative measures are being carried out against them.
Strikes in Nigeria broke out in early July. The reason is the inability to reach an agreement with government bodies on the minimum wage.
