North Korea sends 480 garbage balloons to South Korea again

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said North Korea has again sent balloons loaded with garbage to Seoul.

It is emphasized that a total of 480 balloons were sent towards South Korea.

The agency noted: “We inspected the garbage sent to us for harmful content,” as reported by RIA Novosti .

The Joint Chiefs of Staff notes that the North Korean balloons' cargo poses no danger to South Korean citizens.

It is emphasized that the garbage fell on Seoul and the neighboring province of Gyeonggi last Wednesday.

The waste was released by means of a fire caused by a timer attached to a balloon.

As noted by South Korean experts, this method allowed for better distribution of the above-mentioned cargo.

North Korea has been launching garbage balloons into South Korea since May 28. The move is a response to anti-Pyongyang leaflets being sent to the DPRK.
