Kazakhstan does not want its territory to be used to circumvent sanctions against Russia.

This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vasilenko.

He made it clear in an interview with the Polish agency PAP that Kazakhstan does not support anti-Russian sanctions, but at the same time does not want to turn the country into a platform for circumventing them.

Vasilenko stressed that Kazakhstan is complying with sanctions because of the benefits to the economy.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the sanctions imposed by the US and EU against the Russian Federation have affected the logistics and trade chains of Kazakhstan.

He added that the West and Russia understand Kazakhstan’s position.

There is a special group operating in the country that is negotiating with Europe and the United States on sanctions issues.

Kazakhstan is interested in preserving its interests and does not want to use the country's territory to circumvent sanctions.
